Project Summary

The purpose of MACF Homegrown project aims to ensure that women obtain the necessary skills to produce fruits and vegetables as well as raise animals for consumption and generate surplus income to purchase food during times of scarcity in the year. CARE, in collaboration with the local government’s agriculture department, and local NGO will train women from selected poor and extreme households on comprehensive homestead gardening, animal rearing and appropriate dietary consumption according to age specific guideline to improve dietary consumption pattern of women and young children. To promote production of vitamin rich vegetables, eggs and meat, resulting in diversified food consumption that improves the nutritional status of women and children under two. Intervention around decision making within household is also addressed through project as well. CARE, Bangladesh will provide input supports for agriculture and livelihood interventions.

Position Title, Location & Contract Duration:

Project Support Officer for Nutrition at the Center: Homegrown project (01 Position, based at Sunamganj)

The duration of the proposed contract is up to October 31, 2017.

I. Job Summary:  

Project Support Officer (PSO) position is designed to provide extensive support to the field team and PNGOs in all aspects of administrative and financial support to the Nutrition at the Center project and Nutrition the center Homegrown project. This position requires intimate knowledge of CARE’s financial/procurement and administrative policies and the project operational strategies.PSO is required to communicate with the procurement department, transport service and support sections. The incumbent will assist the project in different procurement process; maintain records, register and monitor the expenses. PSO will also be responsible for preparation of AIP 1.3 and tracking of procurement.

II. Responsibilities and Tasks:

Responsibility #1: Financial / Procurement Tasks

Check and forward TERs, MERs, PERs and other advances on a regular basis.
Prepare quarterly PR as per AIP 1.3 and request, process and follow up with Procurement department for project materials and equipments purchase.
Arrange to disburse the fund to the PNGOs as per agreement.
Arrange for payment to Consultant, Vendor and Service Providers etc.

Responsibility #2: Provide “proactive” Administrative Support to different event of the project like training, workshop etc

Provide support to organize training, workshop, meetings, and conference and arrange booking of the venues and ensure logistics for the workshop participants.

Arrange tickets, vehicle, and accommodations etc for all official visitors.
Manage day to day support requirements for the project staff, with the special focus on project demand.
S/he is responsible for office maintenance and renovation of office as per requirement.
Preserve administrative and financial documents of different training and workshop.

Responsibility # 3: Inventory / Resource management

Documentation of distribution of different project materials.
Organize program inventories and filing systems in proper way.
Prepare and update the FF&E reports and files.
Order and receive all necessary stationers from the store for the program.
Conduct physical inventory for program materials and resources.

Responsibility # 4: Liaison with other departments and organizations

Liaison with support section, transport and procurement department on regular basis and gather update knowledge about any change of the policy.
Maintain liaison with outside organization(s) as and when instructed.
Any project related work assigned by the supervisor.

III. Reporting to:  

Technical Manager - Field Operation, Nutrition at the Center project.   

IV. Working Conditions:  

This is a Field Office based position.

V.   Qualifications and Experience:  

Graduate in any discipline.
5 years experience in a development organization in Administration/Finance/Budget.
Skill in logistic management.
Excellent knowledge on record keeping.
Preparation of different routine reports.
Good verbal and written communication skills in both Bangla and English.
Computer proficiency on MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point.

Compensation

Monthly gross salary is Taka 25,225 plus other admissible benefits as per CARE policy.
